ENGLISH: The crowd that collected in front of the Astronomical Clock at Staroměstské náměstí (Old Town Square) in anticipation of the hourly spectacle was a great source of motifs - I thought of it as the hourly worship of the "Cult of the Camera" as I have never seen so many cameras in one place outside of a press conference :)//
DK: Mængden der samledes foran Det Astronomiske Ur ved Staroměstské náměstí (Old Town Square) i forventningen om det timelige show var en fantastisk kilde af motiver - jeg tænkte på det som den timelige gudstjeneste for Kameraets Kult, for jeg har aldrig set så mange kamera samlet på et sted udenfor en pressekonference :)

ENGLISH: Shot from Karlův most (Charles Bridge) towards the Church of St Nicholas. One of the things I really enjoyed about the cityscape of Prague was the spires and towers - almost everywhere you looked in the inner city, your eye wouldn't have to roam far to find a collection of spires and towers rising towards the sky. And as an added bonus, there was plenty of opportunity to capture photos with a built-in symmetry thanks to that. //
DK: Shot from Karlův most (Karlsbroen) towards the St Nicholas Kirken. En af de ting jeg virkelig nød ved Prags bylandskab var spirene og tårnene - næsten alle vegne man kiggede i den indre by behøvede øjnene ikke søge længe før de fandt en samling af spir og tårne der rejste sig mod himmelen. Og som en bonus, var der derfor masser af muligheder for at indfange motiver med indbygget symmetri af samme årsag.

ENGLISH: Shot while I was practicing shooting moving sea gulls - given that this is handheld I actually think it turned out pretty good, and backlit, spread-out wings always make for a good element in an image :) //
DK: Skudt mens jeg øvede mig i at fotografere måger i bevægelse - givet, at dette er håndholdt synes jeg faktisk jeg slap ret godt fra det, og så er spredte vinger med lys bagfra jo som regel et godt element i et billede :)

ENGLISH: The new tiger kittens in Aalborg Zoo caught in a playful moment with their mother. Although this is a great situational shot it is unfortunately not tack-sharp as it should be; turns out I totally forgot to turn off the image stabilization which of course is unnecessary when using a tripod and that introduced some vibrations - guess I need to get into the practice of using the damned pod :D //
DK: De nye tiger killinger i Aalborg Zoo fanget i et legesygt øjeblik med deres mor. Selv om det er et super situationsbillede så er det desværre ikke så knivskarpt som det burde være; det viser sig jeg fuldstændigt havde glemt at slå billedstabiliseringen fra da den jo naturligvis er unødvendig når man skyder med tripod og det har så introduceret nogle vibrationer - jeg må nok bare se at få øvet noget mere med den skide pod :D

ENGLISH: Whenever I see a moon rising through the clouds, I always get an urge to shoot it - one of these days, I really must look into how I go about getting the best possible capture of that situation :) //
DK: Nårsomhelst jeg ser en måne stige gennem skyerne får jeg altid en trang til at indfange det - en af disse dage må jeg virkelig få mig sat ind i hvordan jeg får det bedst mulige billede af den situation :)

ENGLISH: While in Prague, it became sort of a side-activity during photos of the magnificent city, to capture images of the other tourists photographing - a bit of meta-photography. What I quickly noticed was, that almost everyone had the same "snapshot expression" on the face while shooting regardless of race, age and sex :) //
DK: Mens jeg var i Prag blev det en slags bi-aktivitet under min fotografering af den flotte by, at indfange billeder af de andre turister der fotograferede - en smule meta-fotografering. Hvad jeg ret hurtigt lagde mærke til var, at næsten alle havde det samme "snapshot udtryk" i ansigtet mens der blev skudt billeder uanset race, alder og køn :)

ENGLISH: This little guy was hard to resist with his small size and the cross-eyed look on his side - don't know if it was just the sunlight that was too bright or if he always looked like this. //
DK: Denne lille fyr var svær at modstå med såvel en lille størrelse som et skeløjet look på sin side - jeg ved ikke om sollyset bare var for stærkt eller om han altid så sådan ud.

DK: Et hurtigtskyd billede fra min fødselsdag - ja sandelig, der var jordbær og champagne :D Jeg skulle sikkert have brugt lidt mere tid på at få taget billedet, men der var jo gæster der ventede på de gode sager :)

ENGLISH: Having climbed the staggering 287 steps to the top of the main tower of the Sct Vitus Cathedral, I was treated to a great many motifs - amongst these, some great gargoyles on one of the other towers that actually looked like a Pig-Dragon hybrid :) The green metal against the bluish sky makes for a great contrast. //
DK: Efter, at have gået op af de heftige 287 trin til toppen af hovedtårnet i Sct Vitus Katedralen, blev jeg præsenteret for mange gode motiver - blandt disse, nogle herlige gargoiler på et af de andre tårne, der faktisk så ud til at være en Gris-Drage hybrid :) Det grønne metal mod den blålige himmel udgør en rigtig god kontrast.

ENGLISH: There is something magnificent about the large birds of prey - I believe this is a Bald Eagle, but I of course forgot to take a shot of the zoo plaque so I could look up the latin name at home. Much like the tiger, the larger birds of prey seem to be all focused action just waiting to happen, even when sitting still. //
DK: Der er noget enestående og prægtigt over de større rovfugle - jeg mener dette er en Hvidhovedet Havørn, men jeg glemte naturligvis at tage et billede af den zoo plade der beskrev den så jeg kunne slå det latinske navn op når jeg kom hjem. Meget lig tigeren, synes de større rovfugle at være fokuseret handling der bare venter på at ske, selv når de sidder stille.

ENGLISH: The 287 steps up a stone winding staircase to the top of the tower of the St Vitus Cathedral was well worth it when you get a vista like this :) Although I will admit to having been swearing like a sailor when I was halfway there AND I would not recommend anyone else doing it on a day with 34 degree C weather :) //
DK: De 287 trin op af en stenvindeltrappen til toppen af tårnet i St Vitus Katedralen var helt afgjort det værd når man får en udsigt som denne :) Udelt jeg gerne indrømmer jeg bandede som en sømand i havsnød da jeg var ca halvvejs OG jeg vil ikke anbefale andre at gøre det på en dag hvor der er 34 grader udenfor :)

ENGLISH: One of the many, many gargoyles on the St Vitus Cathedral in the Hradčany district - many of them have great facial expressions and this little guy in particular seemed like no one had told him he would be stuck on a wall far, far up :) //
DK: En af de mange, mange gargoiler på St Vitus Katedralen i Hradčany distriktet - mange af dem har fantastiske ansigtsudtryk og denne lille fyr især så afgjort ud som om ingen havde fortalt ham, at han skulle sidde fast på en væg højt, højt oppe :)

DK: Skudt imod Hradčany (området hvor Prag Slot er placeret) ligesom solen var klar til at forsvinde bag horisonten - synes dette understreger den nærmest fantasi-agtige kvalitet slotsområdet har :)

ENGLISH: A vacation shot from the past - all the way from my 2002 vacation in Florida, where a Canon Power G2 was the camera of choice. Vacation time is here - I am going to take a break for the update schedule to recharge, find new motives and generally relax - will return on August 9th. Have a great summer everyone :) //
DK: Et feriebillede fra fortiden - helt tilbage fra min 2002 ferie i Florida, hvor et Canon Powershot G2 var det foretrukne kamera. Så er ferietiden her - jeg tager en pause fra opdateringerne for at genoplade, finde nye motiver og generelt slappe af - vender tilbage igen 9. August. Hav en skøn sommer allesammen :)

ENGLISH: Another shot selected with focus on the pure joy and fun so apparent in the motif - genuine enjoying adds something extra to any shot - and I actually like the slight blur caused by me shooting at too slow an exposure rate :) //
DK: Endnu et billede udvalgt med fokus på den åbenlyse glæde og morskab der er så åbenlys i motivet - åbenhjertig fornøjelse giver noget ekstra til ethvert billede - og så kan jeg faktisk godt lide den smule slør det føjer til billede, at jeg skød ved for langsom en lukketid :)

ENGLISH: This couple was just packing up and getting ready to leave after enjoying lunch at the dockside - actually I spotted them in the background of another shot I had just taken and wanted to capture the moment, also to see if I could do that quickly hand-held style with my mammoth 100-400mm lens - and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by both the sharpness and the composition; I may finally have mastered this latest lens after a couple of hundred shots :) //
DK: Dette par var lige ved at pakke sammen og gøre klar til at gå efter at have nydt frokost ved havnefronten - rent faktisk spottede jeg dem i baggrunden i et andet skud jeg lige havde taget og ville fange øjeblikket, ikke mindst for at se om jeg kunne gøre det hurtigt i håndholdt stil med mit monsterstore 100-400mm objektiv - og jeg må sige jeg er ganske positivt overrasket over såvel skarphed som komposition; måske jeg endelig har fået taget på dette seneste objektiv efter et par hundrede billeder :)

ENGLISH: Nothing says summer to me quite like kids playing in the water - in this case a kid taking a cooling by sitting down in the fountain installation in downtown Aalborg. Uncharacteristically for my street photography, this one is not in Black/White, but I just thought it displayed the message of "summer" better in colour :) //
DK: Intet siger sommer for mig som børn der leger med vand - i dette tilfælde en knægt der tager en afkøler ved at sidde i en af springvandsinstallationerne i Aalborg midtby. Meget ukarakteristisk for mine street billeder, så er dette ikke i Sort/Hvid, jeg synes bare, at ideen om "sommer" blev bedre vist i farver :)

DK: Har allerede publiceret et skud af denne danser - men jeg synes hun fortjener et closeup, da lidenskab for hvad man laver og rendyrket morskab altid skinner igennem og udgør basis for nogle af de bedste øjeblikke - på film og ellers :)
